About Log jump
Log jump was founded in 2006 by Erik M. Cunningham, a business developer from Los Angeles, CA.
When asked how he came up with the idea of offering free and customizable homepages to Internet users, Erik replied, "I was online for several hours a day and found myself visiting the same websites over and over. I didn't like using my web browser's favorites menu because it took too long to open the drop-down menu and sort through my bookmarks. I didn't like the idea of giving up the real estate on my screen by opening my favorites menu in the left hand column of my browser either. What I wanted, was my own personal homepage that I could customize with links to my favorite websites. Then I thought, 'Why stop there? Why not add a web search, login form and yellow pages search to my homepage? If this is something I could use, why not create the service and offer it to others?'" And that's how the concept for Log jump was initially conceived.
Three months later, Erik turned that concept into a reality. He remarked, "Only time will tell how the Log jump website will develop and evolve. I hope that users will contribute their own ideas for improving the site as our membership grows. As users' suggestions for site improvements roll in, I know we are up to the task of bringing the best of those ideas to life."
